Summer Greetings

I am writing this on the longest day of the year – yes, Summer is truly here

It helps that the Sun will be out ALL day with no rain showers! So far, my
plants are not complaining about all the rain, but I think they will be happy
with a break. I have new plants from DJ’s to plant! He has a wonderful
selection, in beautiful condition, worth the trip! If you missed the trip, you
missed out on dodging a few raindrops, a little lightning/thunder, some
minor wind AND a wonderful program on Hydrangea.
Dr. Rabkin’s Japanese Garden was once a neglected lot next to his business
(a schoolhouse from the 1800’s he repurposed for his business). It is now a
skillfully crafted oasis that offers many focal features including a Tea house,
Koi pond, strategically placed trees and rock formations. He was an
engaging speaker who shared information on all phases of his project.
Another worthy trip! Thanks Kate and Pat. (Coincidently, I met a
gentleman who works in security at the Atlanta airport, who attend that
school!)
Are you ready for our July picnic? I am! The picnic is a great time to bring
a friend. Remember your chair, carpool if you can, and plan for a day
outside. Don’t forget your auction item – make it something worth bidding
on – that makes the auction more enjoyable for all. Call if you have
question on directions, access or just because.
I am heading out to the garden.
