March 2017 President: Ann Ferguson



Dear Club Members,
It will be so good to be back together and start a new growing season.

The Board has been busy with an adjusted budget and updated information. The Awards Committee is looking forward to planning for more awards. The Flower Show Committee will be meeting soon to plan for the 2018 show. The Membership Chairman will be transferring from Edie Joseph to Tess Swatrz this new year. The Yearbook information is due by March 31, that includes all membership money, changes in personal information, and any list of dates for the yearbook. The Plant Sale committee is gearing up for this season’s items. Jan Eicher will be providing IGC with more ideas to benefit the North Hills Community Outreach. David Councill Memorial Park will get help from Bidwell again this year. We unanimously agreed to contribute $50 to an Eagle Scout working on a landscape project at UPMC Passavant outside the Cancer Center.

We discussed adding a committee to help keep us informed about the health of our members and their families; maybe calling it the Girl Friend Committee. Think on it and give me your feedback, and if you would like to head this. We will discuss this at the March meeting.

We will save a table up front for those who need this close proximity to the speakers and sound system.

A change for your calendars in April. Our meeting will move to Wednesday April 12th same start time. Saint John’s Lutheran Church of Highland, needs our meeting space on our scheduled April 5 date. Mark your calendars.
