Presidents Comments August 2017

Dear Club Members,

July has been a busy, fun filled Garden Club month.

I want to give, on behalf of everyone who attended, a BIG thank you to Donna Artz for hosting our picnic along with the Hospitality committee. “THANK YOU!” We got to see the growth and artistic design in Donna’s yard. WOW. Her Hosta collection is superb and well categorized in small garden areas. Along with that was the fun filled auction auctioneered by Julie and sidekick, Linda. Read Kate’s treasure’s report for the success of this event. What a surprise.

A few members spent time at the Leadership Workshop and the Flower Show School. The participation in the Leadership Workshop and Flower Show School becomes essential for our club. We have big shoes to continue to fill that our predecessors established. This schooling is the only way to continue to be prepared. Leadership School is the perfect opportunity to enhance our knowledge of the workings of our garden club and learn to become leaders. Hopefully more of you will attend next year. Flower Show School was vigorous, challenging, and mind expanding! We learned more about how to write the Schedule, and details to make our next show better than ever as the Handbook changed many guidelines. Our changing demographics of IGC is leaving BIG gaps in knowledge for our club to be successful. We must continue Growing Forward.
