July Message

Greetings Gardening Friends,
Many of us enjoyed our tour of family owned Brenckles Nursery and also visiting Larry Grundlers Summerhill Daylily, Rose, Iris, and Hosta wonderland. He shared his skill, passion, and lifelong dedication to these species. The daylilies will be at their peak in the next week or two, and he welcomes visitors at any time. So, if you didn’t get the chance to join us, do yourself a favor and go take a look! Special thanks to Julie Barnes for lining up a memorable day for us.
Thanks to our members who planted and tended to our gardens at David Councill, the Passavant Planters, and Edith’s Garden. All of these efforts make Ingomar Garden Club stand out in the community and are noticed. Don’t miss the chance to attend some of the upcoming garden tours in our area – they give you ideas for new plant combinations and creative ideas that you might not consider. Saturday, July 10 is the Wexford Garden and Pond Tour. This self-guided tour is 10-4 p.m. with a bonus evening tour July 11th from 8-10 p.m., and July 24th is Southern Butler Garden Tour. We would also love to see a strong showing from our club at the District IX Annual Meeting on September 10th at the Chadwick in Wexford. Our friends and neighbors from Greybrooke Garden Club will be hosting this year.
Our July picnic is going to be a treat that you don’t want to miss! Invite a friend or relative to join you on July 7th Remember to bring plant treasures or garden related items for our yearly auction, which is a fun way to benefit our club. Bring small bills for your purchases, to make it easier on our hard working treasurer.
Enjoy the sunshine and see you at the picnic!
