INGOMAR GARDEN CLUB . . . Green Thumbs Grow thru Trowel & Error

December Letter 2018

Linda Womsley, President

Winter greetings,
I am officially declaring the growing season over. Like most of you I am planning to bring
the outside in for the Holidays, greens, pointsettia and an evergreen! Mine will be a mix of
fresh and looks like fresh. How ever you decorate, bring the winter season in!
November was full of firsts for me. I’ve been a member of the club for 12 years and this
was the first time I ‘helped’ with the Poster/Poetry judging. The kids who participated
have now been exposed to Smokey the Bear, bottled water and other themes of the
National Garden Club. It’s good to start them young! Thanks to Chris and her team for the
work they put in.
I also attended my first Horti-therapy session. The residents all enjoyed showing off and
checking out each other’s creations. It brightened what was a cold dreary day. It’s good to
keep them young! Thanks to Jessie and the usually suspects that keep this activity alive
and kicking!
Have you seen the tree? If you get a chance stop by the library and take a look.
Thank you for warmly welcoming our guests to the November meeting, I had a number of
favorable comments from attendees.
Savor the Season,
Linda Womsley,
