[Dixmont State Hospital]

In 1967 the IGC transferred their volunteer Garden Therapy Program Aspinwal Veteraans hospital to Dixmont State Hospital, which lasted through 1980.  Garden therapy programs had members showing patients how to make and plant flower beds on the grounds, flower arranging classes, and potting plants to take to their rooms.  One year for those unable to leave the building, favors were created to put on their trays for Thanksgiving.   In 1980 a certificate of recognition was awarded to the club for their activities At Dixmont Hospiyal by the  GCFP.
